Hi, I’m Tyler.

I started my technical journey as an independent Android programmer and car tuner back in 2016, where I had designed a couple basic mobile apps as well as dabbled in car computer tuning.  Around 2017, I had added DJing to my hobby list, and as a result, also had co-designed my first managed hosting WordPress site to host my contact information as well as portfolio and blog.

More recently switched to a focus in Cybersecurity with a sub-passion in Automation in late 2023/early 2024 and have since re-built and self-secured my original branded website in addition to this current personal one. Originally rebuilt them via static HTML templates and have been working towards transitioning them back to WordPress for easier future blogging capabilities as well as overall general management. During this time, I have also participated in various cybersecurity Capture-The-Flag (CTF) events, pentesting exercises, and automation projects all of which are detailed here in the site portfolio.

Related to hobbies:

I started car tuning back in 2016 with my d16z single cam Honda Del Sol. After getting “the bug” and being able to see the changes essentially in real-time, I went all in with a 70mm turbo build for it. Got it up to 27 psi before the head studs stripped out of the block and had it rebuilt (with upgraded rods, pistons, studs, etc.) until the transmission blew during a 2nd to 3rd gear pull.

Due to factors at the time, I never was able to rebuild/complete that setup and have since moved on to tuning various other Honda setups (more D series, B series, turbo/non-turbos, automatics, as well as nitrous setups) with the most recent tuning experience being on the VersaTuner platform for Mazdaspeeds (including the addition of unique variables like MAF and e85 tuning).

While DJing, have created over 600 hours of recorded music mixes, with the most recent handful of mixes posted on Mixcloud (Most recent mix in the embedded player below). Almost all of them were livestreamed on twitch.tv with a handful of recorded/non-recorded in person sets.

I started out mainly mixing “Ultra Miami” festival style, and eventually incorporating “story-telling” type mixes with Progressive/Uplifting/Vocal Trance over the years, with some of my top favorite mixes being these story-telling style mixes.

Leading up to the pandemic and shutdowns, I started straying away from DJing as much due to personal preferences involved with the “scene” as well as moving home locations not providing an ideal setup for enjoying livestreaming at home anymore. As of 2024, I still DJ occasionally and am open to gigs by request… Due to changes with livestream stipulations, that avenue has cut back to almost none.

For video editing, I started dabbling in short-form content creation (relating to cars) and long form (relating to “masterclass” style content to help teach others to gain the knowledge I had easier/quicker than I did. Just before pandemic shutdowns, I had barely started video streaming live events with a unique mobile stream setup that basically offered backstage type content, DJ booth content, and interactivity with any live viewers posting in live chat. I had not ironed out the final touches of my offerings before shutdowns, of which I had mostly abandoned the project (still something I would like to pursue dependent on financial capabilities).

Relating to programming/automation, I have created a couple of Android mobile apps relating to Blackjack basic strategy training and the War card game. These started out pretty decent but was unable to continue management of code to keep up with the ever-evolving developer policy requirements by Google Play. The War game never really caught on, and I have since pretty much abandoned it. The Blackjack Strategy Trainer is still currently live as of 2025, receiving sparse updates.

The next programming project happened to be a twitch.tv livestreaming personal chat bot. This was around the same time as the Android apps. This chat bot project was done via IRC scripts and had many interactive features (responsive commands, reactions to keywords, points/loyalties, text games, etc.) that were either not currently widely available in public/free chat bots or just barely being implemented.

Currently for programming, I have been working in Tines automation. Most of this work is no/low code, but I still consider it under the programming umbrella. I’ve been able to create tons of automation projects including (not limited to) programmatic email templating, news alerts, stock alerts, Linux VPS/Splunk alerts, microcontroller control, YouTube video alerts, economic calendar alerts, server status/update alerts, cybersecurity alerts, Instagram and other server (Discord, Slack, etc.) chat bots. My focus with Tines right now is designing/managing stories for others as well as creating “Tines with Tyler” content demonstrating personal how-tos with the platform as well as creative/innovative automation projects.
