Mainly for DJ purposes, have had a pretty simple and very cost effective website that was designed by a person within my DJ community, and then hosted with WordPress on a managed hosting provider. This original site was just intended to be a single, and nearly “One page” design that was a hub for people looking for more information about me and the services I offered very quickly and efficiently. As I did not want to commit a ton of resources or financials to this, the theme was a basic implementation of a free wordpress theme and customizations were kept to a minimum. There really is not much else to say about this, as most of the design was commissioned, and that it was my first real entry into website design and hosting (where I did start to learn a little bit of HTML and CSS, and DNS record managmenet).

Some of the key parts that went into, or involved with the hosting of this original DJ Hub site:

  • WordPress hosted theme
  • Hosted with a hosting provider.
  • Custom domain name and DNS record management
  • Ability to have full themed integration of masterclass and store sites.

One huge advantage I had with having this “DJ hub” created was that it allowed me full control over the integrations of services. For example, since I had a running shopify store and masterclass site, I was able to link the domain names together, and also customize the themes that it is virtually seamless in integration. From a user perspective, there would be almost no indication of you moving between different sites altogether. The one caveat I had with this, is that I had commissioned someone else to do the designing and theming integration, as I had no knowledge at the time, and wasn’t willing to invest the resouces into learning.
